Not Bapu's stick, now its a Snake in our hands

This is a beautiful poem written by Gulzar - remembering Gandhi. This points out how we as a society have given up on the values which Gandhi-ji upheld in his lifetime[truth, secularism, compassion for others] and now, by the system how we are susceptible to follow (and accept blindly) a set of completely different ideals [sometimes enforced on us via propaganda, subconciously, sometimes selecting them out of out own will].

Instead of Gandhi's laathi[stick] of virtues; we are left with snake in our hand. A snake here might represent communalism, extremism. The venom of which one intends to use on enemies, might kill the owner itself. Someday.
